Doug Pratt BSc (Hons) For., M Arbor. A - Senior Consultant

Doug holds an Honours Degree in Forestry specialising in Arboriculture from the University ofAberdeen, and is a Professional Member of the Arboricultural Association. His experience in arboriculture commenced in 1990 working for tree surgery contractors in Bristol, before deciding to become qualified at degree level. Since graduation in 1997, he has worked for the North Kesteven District Council planning department and then the London Borough of Wandsworth, where he managed the tree population of Battersea Park during major restoration works, providing technical advice to the design team and contributing to planting schemes. He subsequently worked as Tree Preservation Officer (Planning) for Islington Borough Council, assessing major developments including the United Emirates Stadium, before returning to Devon in 2003 as Senior Arboricultural Officer for Teignbridge District Council. He offers considerable experience of the planning arena, including project management skills and a sound arboricultural knowledge-base augmented by continued professional development.

 

Rupert Brasier Tech.Cert (Arbor.A) - Consultant

Rupert holds the Arboricultural Associations Technicians Certificate. His experience in arboriculture started in utility arboriculture, primarily on vegetation management contracts for telecoms and powerproviders. Starting as a team member on the cutting teams, he quickly progressed to surveying overhead utilities. This led to a more managerial role for a South-West contracting company, managing arboricultural contracts and facilities management for a national PLC. Since joining Devon Tree Services in early 2008, he has successfully undertaken the Professional Tree Inspector qualification and has achieved his Tech. Cert. He is also an experienced licensed user of the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment system.

Maggie has been with the company since 2005 and is personal assistant to the consultants. Maggie was previously employed by Teignbridge District Council within the planning department, specialising in handling applications for Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation Area notifications, and therefore provides a wide range of knowledge of the planning process.
